Do you know what day it is folks? Game day! Big Blue Nation has descended upon Nashville to kick off the Mark Stoops era right and cheer on their Cats to a win over Bobby Petrino and the Hilltoppers. A crowd of more than 40k is expected at LP Field tonight and the tailgating scene is expected to be lively.

Opinions on how the game will turn out vary wildly, with some fans expecting a close win and others expecting to blow WKU out. Then there are the newly obnoxious WKU fans who think they are going to handle the Wildcats easily, which simply isn’t going to happen. People forget that the Toppers beat a poorly-coachedUKteam by a single point after the Cats gave them five turnovers. And last year’s WKU team was better than this one. The only differences this season are Bobby Petrino and playing inNashville.

Petrino is a good coach, no denying that. A lot ofKentuckyfans wanted him inLexington. But Willie Taggart was a pretty good coach too and he filled his roster with players that fit his power-running offense, not the wide-open passing attack that Petrino wants. He simply doesn’t have the horses to run the offense that he prefers. Brandon Doughty may end up a fine QB but if it tells you anything, the Toppers will start true freshman Taywan Taylor at WR.Taylorwas a 2* whomKentuckyoffered to walk-on.
