Even though Kentucky is stockpiling receivers for their 2014’s class, Blake Bone offers a much-needed element to any receiving corp. Size. So for more than one reason, Blake Bone is a huge commitment.  Rivals analyst Woody Wommack tells us more.

"“He’s got the one thing that a lot of wide receivers don’t have, which is that size,” Wommack told the Herald-Leader. “When you have a guy like that, obviously that’s what the quarterbacks want. To be able to have a weapon where they can just throw it up and hope that he goes up and gets it. “He’s not a burner in terms of his speed. He’s a possession-type receiver and a guy you can look for on big third-down plays. Or in the red zone, especially, where he can just go up and get it.” Bone joins Snodgrass as the second four-star wide receiver commitment so far in UK’s Class of 2014. The Wildcats also have pledges from three-star prospects T.V. Williams and Garrett Johnson. Kentucky probably will add at least one more receiver to that group, which will join a talented quartet of current newcomers for what Mark Stoops and company hope will be a formidable young receiving corps for the future."

Wondering if Kentucky is using last years loss to WKU as motivation for revenge? Bud Dupree says that he friends back home simply messaged him “You suck” after that game so yes, this is a game for revenge. So yes, revenge is a big motivator and even Mark Stoops feels the need for redemption for his team.

"“It was everywhere, not just our fans. People back home, in each (player’s) hometown: ‘How’d you lose to Western Kentucky?’ We’re an SEC school. This is just not supposed to happen,” Dupree said. “My homeboys, they don’t really care. They’re going to tell me what it is, just tell me straight up how the team is. Once you hear that from your real close people and your real close friends, you know you’ve gotta turn it around.” New UK coach Mark Stoops likes that the defeat still stings, that the embarrassment hasn’t faded. He wasn’t even here then, but that’s not stopping him from using it as motivation for Saturday’s season opener against WKU in Nashville – where the Wildcats were pretty pitiful two years ago against the Toppers, too, even in a narrow victory. “It bothered me that they – that we – lost that game a year ago,” Stoops said. “It should bother them.” In that case, senior linebacker Avery Williamson is in an ideal frame of mind. “Just really felt like at the bottom of the pile,” Williamson said, “because we lost to Louisville and then we lost to Western, so it felt like we were No. 3 in the state. It was a bad feeling, definitely. It feels good to get a chance to go at it again. “I was pretty mad at myself. It was a low point. I’ll feed off that. I’m definitely going to use that, just remember what they did last year.”"
