Kentucky Wildcats Basketball Recruiting: Luke Kennard

Luke Kennard is an up and coming talent in the class of 2015.  Kennard is a 6’5″ guard from Franklin, Ohio and has already received some big time offers.

Kennard’s most recent offer has come from the University of Louisville.  He received the offer from Louisville after his performance at Peach Jam.  His performance at the 16U National Championships is also causing many heads to turn.  Kennard has also received offers from other schools including Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State.

Kennard took a visit to Kentucky last year with John Calipari.  “I really like Coach Cal, and how he runs stuff there.” said Kennard.  I think Kennard would be an exciting recruit for Kentucky to gain.  He needs to put on some more weight but he has good height and seems to be developing his game well.

There will be a few key factors that play a role in Kennard’s final decision.  Those factors are the coaching staff, playing time, academics, and how things are run and the style of play.

Why is there so much emphasis on weight in college basketball especially at the guard position. I don’t believe a offensive lineman is the ideal size for a point guard or even a shooting guard.
    It is ridiculous.

well let’s remember last year at Kentucky Ryan Harrow driving to the basket time after time. What happens he gets bumped just barely from a bigger defender and it takes him off his route. Causing him to either turn the ball over or have to reset the offense But I think in two years this kid will develop fine
