Since John Calipari has arrived in Lexington he has done nothing except bring in 4 #1 recruiting classes, and win a national title. Coach Cal has brought in the talents of John Wall, Anthony Davis, Brandon Knight, Demarcus Cousins and many other NBA players into Lexington.
The class of 2013 that he just recently put together is considered by everybody to be the “greatest recruiting class” in history of college basketball. While putting together that amazing class he also got one of the top players in the 2014 class in Karl Towns who was originally apart of the 2015 class, and was ranked #1 in that class.
Karl Towns was the first commit in 2014 for Kentucky, and he still stands as the only one as of now. Recently much has been made of Calipari offering a lot more kids than he usually does, and another came on Friday as he offered Justice Winslow. I didn’t think Winslow would get a Kentucky offer, but Cal has went deeper in this class than ever before.
I don’t understand the notion that Kentucky may not have the #1 class this year, but I do think Calipari will have to work a lot harder to get it unlike the last four seasons.
What do I think the offer of Winslow means for this class? Nothing. I just think Calipari really likes the way he plays however like I said earlier I didn’t think he would get a UK offer. Also it has been rumored that Winslow would team up with Jones, and Jahlil Okafor in college which would be an incredible package deal.
Does it mean Kentucky is in better shape than most people believe with Jones, and Okafor? Maybe, but most people still think they all 3 land at Duke.
Kentucky will have one of the best classes in the nation, and I honestly think they still end up with the #1 class for the 5th straight season.
