Although the Chicago Bulls lost 68-62 to the Miami Heat in last night’s Summer League playoffs, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t some bright spots they can take away from the Summer League experience thus far. First off, they went undefeated with their only loss to the Heat. Second: Marquis Teague. Teague being able to have the breakout performance he desperately needed should spark some enthusiasm from Bulls scouts and fans. He finished last night with 21 points, going 9-for-10 from the free throw line. His stats so far include: 18.3 pts/gm, 2.8 rbds, 4.8 asts, 22-50 FG (44%), 6-8 3FG (75%), 23-29 FT (79.3%)
Another former Cat that is starting to turn the corner (slowly, but surely) is the Phoenix Suns’ Archie Goodwin. After a bad start earlier in the week, Goodwin followed up with a 22-point performance on Tuesday then a 10-point finish in last night’s 92-84 win over Portland to send the Suns to the playoffs with a 4-0 record. Even though Goodwin only scored one field goal, he managed to hit 7-of-11 at the free throw line.
