As we all anxiously await the beginning of Fall camp and Mark Stoops inaugural season as Head Kentucky Football Coach, the Summer just seems to drag by. There are some recruit decisions here and there. And some camps, like the upcoming Friday Night Blue Lights Camp on the 19th. But for the most part the Summer is spent waiting and worrying about eligibility concerns.
Luckily for female Cats fans, there is an additional option to get their Kentuckyfootball fix. The new coaches have decoded to continue the Kentucky Football Women’s Clinic, an annual event that gives female fans a closer look inside the program. This year the camp is set for July 27th 8am and registration costs $75.
In the past participants were treated to interviews with each member of the coaching staff and several current players. It is a great opportunity to get to know the coaches on a more personal level as well as a chance to learn about the X and Os of each position group. Expect this time to be a hit, as the new staff has several coaches who have great personalities. Attendees are encouraged to bring pen and paper to take any notes they may want to keep.
Typically participants get an opportunity to run some drills on the field at Commonwealth Stadium and receive coaching. Lunch will be provided and everyone will get a commemorative t-shirt. The camp is expected to wrap up around2:30 pm, so it will last for about six and a half hours.
Nearly everyone I have spoken to about this says that it is well worth the money. If interested you can register online here.
