Kentucky Basketball: Kentucky is in the mix for Dante Exum

Dante Exum is an Australian basketball standout.  Since Exum was born in 1995 and lives outside of the United States, he could enter the 2014 NBA Draft.  However, it now appears that he is leaning towards going to college to play and then possibly declaring for the 2015 NBA Draft.

At this point there are a handful of colleges that are recruiting him the hardest.  Those schools would be Indiana, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, SMU, Tulsa, and Kentucky.  Indiana seems to be atop his list since they were the first to show a major interest in him.  He has already taken a visit to Indiana and is excited to compare their program to other schools he will visit.  Exum told Zagsblog that it has always been a goal of his to play in the NCAA tournament.  The 6’5″ talent considers himself to be a big point guard with similarities in his game to that of Derrick Rose.

For now Exum will work on completing his studies at the Australian Institute of Sports.  He can finish there in December and thus join an American program in January or the fall of 2014.  According to Exum, the 2014 NBA Draft will be an option that he and his family will examine, but he is focused on playing in college.
