NBA Free Agency: Golden State Warriors Sign Andre Igoudala, Trade 2 Players

The summer of NBA free agency is getting hotter everyday, and one of the top targets is now off of the market, as the Golden State Warriors have struck a deal with All-Star forward Andre Igoudala. In order to have enough cap space to sign “Iggy” as he’s known, the Warriors had to make significant salary dumps, and the Utah Jazz appear to be the team to help them do just that:

The Warriors were in the running for center Dwight Howard, but this takes them out of the running, and at this moment, the Houston Rockets are favored to land the ALL-NBA big man’s services.

If you’re a betting man, here’s the current odds courtesy of the LA Times:

The sports odds provider has listed the Rockets at +140, meaning a bet of $100 would win $140.

The Lakers were given the second-best odds at +180 and the Dallas Mavericks were listed third at +300.

Howard, a seven-time All-Star center, has been holed up in Aspen, Colo., as he decides whether he wants to return to the Lakers or bolt.

The Orange County Register’s Janis Carr tweeted around 1 p.m. that Howard might announce his decision via Twitter this weekend. Carr has since backed off that report, saying “Hold on….my tweet about Dwight’s announcement was premature.”
