BEFORE UK

As a senior in high school, Johnson tallied 97 tackles with 11 tackles for a loss as a defensive end. LaGrange finished the year 11-3 and made it to the state semifinals. During his junior year he had 79 tackles with 10 for a loss. Johnson is among the list of LaGrange graduates to play at UK, including: Wesley Woodyard, Randall Burden, and DeMoreo Ford. He also played outfielder for his high school baseball team.

AS A WILDCAT

After redshirting his freshman season, Johnson saw limited playing time the following seasons as a defensive tackle. During his sophomore season, Johnson only played in two games due to a shoulder injury. Last season, Johnson replaced Mister Cobble for a game and was made a permanent starter through nine games. He finished with 27 tackles and one touchdown return after a forced fumble. Johnson is looking to play a big role this season with the experience he offers.
