When Jones left Whitley County High School in 2008, he left with the record for all time points scored and touchdowns. He had a monster senior season with 1174 yards rushing and 28 TD’s. Jones also played LB and had 131 tackles and blocked six kicks. Jones also played centerfield and set a school record for stolen bases. After high school, Jones committed to Morehead State as a LB but redshirted.

Jones transferred to UK but did not play football in 2010. Cody has appeared in just four games over the past two seasons in UK and had two rushed for eight yards against Jacksonville State in 2011. Jones is a tough player that can be a good blocker. He is also smart as he was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2011 and 2012.  He has been the backup fullback the last couple of years for UK and should see some spot action this season.
