Collins was one of the top 20 prospects in Alabama per Rivals and was rated as the #62 WR by Scout.  Daryl was a true offensive threat in HS as he played WR, QB, RB and even returned kicks.  Collins caught 27 passes for 483 yards and 4 TD”s as a senior in HS.  Collins also played basketball in HS and his coach says that he has “excellent hands, vision, and yards after the catch”.  Collins is an exciting playmaker that can make things happen with the ball.

Collins suffered an injury before the 2011 season and was forced to redshirt.  Last year, he played in all 12 games and caught 17 passes for 171 yards.  His best game was against Louisville when he had seven catches for 64 yards.  Although hampered by the overall inconsistency of UK’s offense, Collins showed glimpses that he can be a big play threat.  Collins averaged 22.2 yards on six kickoff returns and 15 yards on three punt returns.

Collin’s experience last year will make him one of the favorites for a starting WR spot this year and he will be expected to be a major contributor.
