Kentucky Wildcats Basketball Recruiting: Perkins, Zimmerman, and Andrew Wiggins

Kentucky Basketball never stops, and neither does Kentucky Basketball recruiting. Most schools at this point of the year are turning down the heat on recruits, and planning for the upcoming season, but John Calipari never takes a day off. I just wanted to stop by, and give you an update on some of the things that have happened this week.

Andrew Wiggins hasn’t said anything about his timetable for a decision, but most people expect him to announce sometime next week. May 15th is the deadline to sign a letter of intent, but Wiggins doesn’t have to sign a LOI so he really can decide whenever he wants. I am ready for this to be over with just like everybody else, but I think if he comes to Kentucky the wait will be worth it. I will not give a prediction on where I think he is going, because nobody has any idea. I will not throw false rumors around because credibility is very important to me.

Kentucky checked in on Josh Perkins yesterday, and he is a 4 star guard from Colorado. Perkins is a bigger guard as he stands at 6-2, and plays AAU ball for the Colorado Miners. I wouldn’t think Kentucky would offer unless they think they don’t have a good chance at Mudiay, and/or Devin Booker. Perkins is ranked #1 in Colorado, and 42nd nationally.

Kentucky and staff even went younger earlier this week when they checked in on #2 ranked player in the class of 2015 Stephen Zimmerman from Bishop Gorman High school(NV). Zimmerman is a big body, an checks in at 7 foot tall. Zimmerman plays a lot like Mason Plumlee in my opinion, but has the skills to play outside in college already. Kentucky is already familiar with the coaches at Bishop Gorman High School, because that is the stomping grounds of Shabazz Muhammad who Kentucky recruited really hard before he went to UCLA last season. Zimmerman’s mom put on twitter that they would definitely check out Kentucky before his recruiting process is offer. I wouldn’t think Kentucky goes 0-2 if they offer Zimmerman.

I expect next time I write to you guys we will have a destination on where Andrew Wiggins will be headed next season.
