On April 26, 2013 the life of Larry Warford changed forever. Larry waited through the first day of the draft as he knew he probably wouldnt be a first round selection, but the second day which features the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the draft is where he had been projected. Finally with the 65th pick in the 3rd round he hears his name called, he is taking his talents to the Detroit Lions and will be called upon to keep quarterback Matt Stafford upright. The Lions are known for their passing game with Stafford and Calvin Johnson but what they have lacked in recent years is a steady run-game. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz knows Warford’s ability to not only help in the pass game but his strength allows him to make gaps for running backs. He is a great run blocker and that’s what Schwartz likes about him. Warford’s 333lb frame allows him to pretty much bully opposing defensive lineman and move them at will, he will not be thrown around and he showed that in the talent studded SEC. Best of luck to him as a Lion I think he will do great things for that organization.
