139th Kentucky Derby Winner:Orb

And they’re off! As promised, we witnessed the most exciting two minutes of sports as 19 of the worlds best horses battled it out on a muddy track at Churchill Downs. Orb came from behind-at one point in 15th position-in true champion fashion to win his 5th straight race and most likely his most important one to date running the race in 2:02.89. He won by displaying his speed and strength coming from the outside to overtake Golden Soul and Revolutionary. I myself am a little happy considering I placed a bet on him and Revolutionary ( I bet a couple others as well but we won’t talk about them!). And who is Golden Soul?! That horse ran a great race but he just ran out of juice. His odds were 34-1 so if you bet him you did alright. Revolutionary was one of my favorites, I have always liked the way Calvin Borel jockey’s a horse. The combination of the horse and the jockey was just too much to pass up.

So, our big guy moves on to try and tackle the ever allusive Triple Crown as the Preakness Strakes is up next on May 18th. Get you money ready and wish Orb all the best. I will!
