In a bit of a surprise, Kentucky picked up their second commitment of the weekend when three-star defensive lineman Tymere Dubose of Youngstown, Ohio (Youngstown Christian School) chose the Wildcats. Dubose holds offers from several FBS programs despite having only played football for a year. He chose Kentucky over offers from Michigan State and West Virginia. Several other big schools had begun sniffing around Dubose before the announcement. Most felt he would end up in blue and white because he is coached in high school by Vince Marrow’s brother.
Tymere is 6’6” and 265 lbs and could project as a defensive end or a tackle in the 4-3 defense. Because he is just starting his football career, his upside is through the roof. This could be a signing that we look back on a few years from now that really changed the defense at Kentucky. He is likely to reshirt as a freshman but could contribute early after that.
