With the NFL Draft set to resume tonight, several former Wildcats are about to have their dreams of playing in the NFL potentially realized.
One player certain to be drafted and likely have a productive NFL career is offensive guard Larry Warford. The mammoth lineman showed he has the strength and technique to block elite SEC defensive players during his 4 seasons at UK. Many of this year’s and past year’s first round SEC defenders have gone one-on-one with Warford at some point, and he’s more than held his own against them.

As of now, several analysts believe Warford could get drafted in the second-round tonight, but shouldn’t make it out of the third-round. He’s viewed as the #1 guard prospect left.

And in other NFL Draft news, Mark Stoops watched a pair of his former FSU players get drafted in the first round last night. FSU defensive end Bjoern Werner went 24th to the Colts, and cornerback Xavier Rhodes went 25th to the Vikings. Hopefully, Stoops will make a habit of getting his UK players to the NFL, as only 3 Cats have been drafted in the past two years, and of the past 12 Cats to be drafted, only 3 (Vincent Burns, Corey Peters, Randall Cobb) have been drafted in the third-round or higher.
