NCAA Baseball: Kentucky Wildcats Lose In Extra Innings

Tonight the #24 Kentucky Wildcats baseball team traveled to Western Kentucky to take on the Hilltoppers.  The Wildcats have been sliding further and further down the top 25 national rankings as they have been on a six game losing streak.  The Cats will now slide even further as their losing streak extends to seven games after losing to the unranked Hilltoppers.

Neither team could get much of anything going offensively as they were each tied at one run a piece through nine innings.  Both teams were able to flex their muscles on defense and continue to extend the game into multiple extra innings.  The Wildcats were finally able to get another run in the 13th inning.  However, the Hilltoppers matched it to make it a 2-2 game into the 14th inning.  The game went all the way to the 18th inning until freshman outfielder/pitcher Trevor Lowe hit a walk-off home run for the Toppers.  Thus, winning the game for WKU by a score of 3-2.

Kentucky received hits from Austin Cousino, A.J. Reed, J.T. Riddle, Michael Thomas, Matt Reida, and Lucas Witt.

The Wildcats will begin a new series on Thursday, April 25th against Ole Miss.  The game will be at Ole Miss and will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET.
