Apparently Andrew Wiggins has all the information that he needs to make his decision on his college decision. Jeff Goodman is reporting that Wiggins, the top ranked basketball player in the 2013 class, is cancelling his scheduled in-home visits with the coaches of the North Carolina Tar Heels, FSU Seminoles, and the Kansas Jayhawks.
You can tilt this towards any school that you want, but all it really means is that he has more than likely made his decision and did not need to visit the other schools. The last coach he did visit with was with Kentucky’s John Calipari, so on the surface, this would seem to be great news for Kentucky.
Some pundits have been claiming for a few weeks that FSU would be the eventual college home for Wiggins and that could still be the choice, but you have to think today’s decision swings the momentum back towards Kentucky.
Kentucky is already the preseason number one team in the country for the 2013-14 season and they have the top rated recruiting class with six McDonald’s All Americans. Keep in mind that Wiggins has been participating in all star games with several members of this class the last few weekends and they have been recruiting him to Kentucky. Maybe it was this time spent with his possible new teammates that helped seal this decision.
