Due to severe weather, the #17 Kentucky Wildcats baseball team had an extra day off today. The team was scheduled to play #14 Soutb Carolina at 7 p.m. Friday night.
The Wildcats certainly could use the extra day off to regroup and collect themselves. The team has been on a rough skid lately as they’ve lost three in a row and dropped six of their last eight games. They were recently ranked as one of the top ten teams in the nation, but due to their recent losses they’ve dropped in the polls a bit.
The Wildcats will now begin their series with South Carolina tomorrow, April 20th, at 1 p.m. ET. It will be a long day, however, as the second game of the series is scheduled to begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. If the Wildcats can win the series they will regain a winning record in the SEC.
Tomorrow’s games against South Carolina begin a seven game road trip. After South Carolina, the Wildcats will face Western Kentucky and then Ole Miss on the road. Kentucky won’t return home to play until Friday, May 3rd, against Arkansas.
