With the Kentucky basketball season having ended nearly a month ago, Big Blue Nation is anxiously awaiting to see how the rest of the roster for next year is going to shape out as they await one of the most anticipated UK basketball seasons in recent memory. With a wealth of talent coming in, as well as several current players still deciding on whether they’ll continue their collegiate careers or take their talents to the NBA or elsewhere, the only real uncertainty now isn’t whether next year’s team will be great or not, but rather “how” great they’ll be.

If the 2013-14 season began today, here’s the likely lineup you’d see take the floor at Rupp Arena:

Starting Lineup

Point Guard: Andrew Harrison

Shooting Guard: Aaron Harrison

Small Forward: Alex Poythress

Power Forward: Julius Randle

Center: Willie Cauley-Stein

Bench

James Young

Marcus Lee

Kyle Wiltjer

Dakari Johnson

Derek Willis

Jon hood

Likely to Enter NBA Draft

Archie Goodwin (already declared)

Nerlens Noel (99.9% gone)

Status Unclear

Jarrod Polson

2013 Recruits still on the Board

Dominique Hawkins

Andrew Wiggins

I agree with everything except the SF position on your list. If Wiggins doesn’t come then i’m not sure Poythress can out play Young at that position.

Hey, the competition will tell … and I’m OK with that
