Former Kentucky Wildcats in the NBA: 3/24 Edition


There were a total of 11 former Kentucky Wildcats playing in the NBA last night, with John Wall, Tayshaun Prince, Brandon Knight, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, Nazr Mohammed, DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Chuck Hayes, Keith Bogans and Eric Bledsoe taking the floor for their respective teams.  Let’s take a look at how each player did individually in last night’s action.

Denver Nuggets 101 – Sacramento Kings 95

Three former Cats took the floor for the Sacramento Kings against the Denver Nuggets last night.  DeMarcus Cousins had a big game, finishing with 24 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks and 3 assists.  Patrick Patterson came off the bench to have 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.  Chuck Hayes did not check into last night’s game.  The Kings fell short against the Nuggets, 101 to 95.

Detroit Pistons 92 – Charlotte Bobcats 91

  • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Forward, Charlotte

Two recent former Cats went up against each other in the Detroit Pistons vs. Charlotte Bobcats game.  For the Pistons, Brandon Knight finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  For the Bobcats, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 assists.  Knight and the Pistons got the win, by the score of 92 to 91.

Chicago Bulls 87 – Indiana Pacers 84

  • Nazr Mohammed, Center, Chicago
  • Marquis Teague, Guard, Chicago

In the Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers game last night, two former Cats took the floor for the Bulls.  Nazr Mohammed got the start and had 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.  Marquis Teague came off the bench to finish with 3 assists and 2 rebounds in 8 minutes.  The Bulls avoided being swept in the season series with the Pacers, winning by the score of 87 to 84.

Golden State Warriors 101 – Washington Wizards 92

  • John Wall, Guard, Washington

John Wall had a stretch of fantastic games for the Wizards that ended last night, as Wall had a so-so game against the Warriors.  Wall finished with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.  The Wizards fell short of the Warriors, 101 to 92.

Memphis Grizzlies 110 – Boston Celtics 106

  • Tayshaun Prince, Forward, Memphis

Tayshaun Prince is finally becoming comfortable in a jersey other than a Detroit Piston jersey.  Last night for the Grizzlies, Prince scored 12 points, dished out 4 assists and pulled down 2 rebounds.  The Grizzlies knocked off the Celtics 110 to 106.

Los Angeles Clippers 101 – Brooklyn Nets 95

  • Eric Bledsoe, Guard, Los Angeles
  • Keith Bogans, Guard, Brooklyn

The final two former Cats playing last night went head to head in the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Brooklyn Nets game.  For the Clippers, Eric Bledsoe came back from his calf injury that kept him out for a few games, to finish with 7 points, 2 rebounds, an assist and a steal.  For the Nets, Bogans finished with 9 points, 2 assists and a rebound.  The Clippers beat the Nets, 101 to 95.
