#7 seed San Diego went into halftime trailing the #10 seed Oklahoma Sooners 33-31. That’s a high scoring 1st half for the games we have saw throughout the tourney today.

Oklahoma was led in scoring by Mississippi State transfer Romero Osby who had 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. SDSU was led by their star guard Jamaal Franklin who went into halftime with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assist. SDSU will need a lot more those numbers from Franklin to advance to Sunday.

Jamaal Franklin started off the 2nd half on fire, and hit a big 3 with 13 minutes left in the 2nd half to extend the Aztecs lead to 45-40.

At the 11 minute mark of the second half Romero Osby picked up his 3rd personal foul, and will head to the bench for a little bit. Could behis a critical point in the game for the Sooners as he was the only one scoring consistently on the Aztecs.

Jamaal Franklin tweaked his ankle late in the second half, and is still limping around, but playing through it. Although their best player his basically playing on one leg the Aztecs extend the lead to 56-48 which is the biggest lead of the game for either team.

Osby once again answered the SDSU run as he hit a 3 to cut the Aztec lead to 56-51, but Jamaal Franklin started taking over the game after that, and extended the lead to 61-51 with 4 minutes left in the game.

SDSU had a run of 15-5 late in the second half to put the game away, and give them some much needed breathing room going into the last 1:30. SDSU leads Oklahoma 63-53 with 1:23 left in the game.

SDSU defeats Oklahoma 70-55 behind 21 points from Jamaal Franklin. They will take on #15 seed Florida Gulf Coast after they upset #2 seed Georgetown earlier.
