The Louisville Cardinals were selected as the number one team overall and placed them in the Midwest Region, but let’s be honest.  The selection committee, aside from geographical considerations, did the Cardinals no favors.  The Midwest bracket is packed with two teams that were ranked number one in Louisville and Duke.  You also have a lot of mid major teams (Creighton, Memphis, St. Louis) that can make some noise and win a game or two.    Three teams (Louisville, Duke, and Michigan State) are ranked the Ken Pom’s Top 10 and you have three Hall of Fame coaches to boot.
