The 2012-2013 Kentucky basketball season hasn’t gone quite the way many people expected. As it seems more and more unlikely that this year’s team will produce another national championship, much of the Big Blue Nation is looking forward to next year’s exciting recruiting class.
Thus far, Kentucky has signed Andrew Harrison (Guard), Aaron Harrison (Guard), James Young (Guard/Forward), Marcus Lee (Forward) and Dakari Johnson (Center) for the 2013-2014 season. Kentucky is looking to add even more to this incredible class. Julius Randle, a 6’9″ forward, is also a top prospect to possibly join Kentucky next year. Randle is a five-star recruit from Plano, Texas and is one of the top players in the 2013 class.
Randle has narrowed his college choices to Kentucky, Kansas, Texas, N.C. State, Florida and Oklahoma. He announced that he will make his decision on March 20 on ESPNU. Randle visited Kentucky in September of 2012 and has now finished his college visits.
Adding Randle to next year’s class could make Kentucky a serious contender for the national championship. The lack of major success this season could entice a couple players to stay at UK another year instead of entering the NBA draft. Those players, combined with the incoming recruiting class, could make UK a nightmare for everyone else in college basketball.
