Here it is just barely three months into Coach Stoops tenure as Head Coach at UK and less than a month after National Signing Day and they are still working nonstop. The new staff according to ESPN Recruiting Nation has all ready offered 71 players. Other recruiting services list UK as offering as many as 100 players in this short period of time and the majority of them are listed as 4*s and one 5*. This staff has a lot of ground to make up but they are coming on strong offering many big time recruits all over the country.

Here is a highlight of two in state recruits:

Drew Barker a KY native and 4* QB that is 6’4” and 210 lbs, sets on top of UK’s recruiting board and things are looking promising. Even a few months back everyone thought he was a South Carolina lock. The battle is not over but UK has gained a lot of ground on SC. Drew has a great arm and is pretty impressive running also, he possesses an amazing stiff arm too. There is a lot excitement over him and for good reason he might be the next Tim Couch. He could very well lead UK into doing amazing things in the SEC and if he does commit expect a domino effect of high talented guys to follow him to UK. Check out his highlights below.

Matt Elam out of Elizabethtown, KY is defensive tackle but I have heard he might be getting recruited as an offensive tackle. Matt is going to big time get if UK can convince him to stay home he is 6’6” and 342 lbs.. He done holds offers from UK and Alabama, if Alabama wants him I really don’t need to say more than he is someone we want badly. Here is his highlights from his sophomore year.

This was just a short intro in to many more articles to come from me. There is a lot more recruits with offers from UK to talk about. Over the next couple months I will try to interview and cover many more of these guys with more in-depth articles. This is an exciting time in UK Football and I will do my best to bring you some really in-depth articles on some the guys we are trying to get to play ball next year in blue.

soon I will have interviews with guys such as Darius West and Tony Fields just to name a few.
