Want to know how the Cats game went today? The picture above does a pretty solid job of depicting what all went on in this game against Arkansas. The Wildcats seemed to be outplayed today by Razorbacks who were 17-11 coming into this game. Arkansas was all over the Cats with their suffocating defense that was fueled by the intense crowd. Kentucky had trouble matching Arkansas’s depth of their bench with foul trouble and were unable to keep fresh bodies on the court. This was another instance of the Cats lack of depth biting them in the rear and it really had players like Cauley-Stein and Julius Mays who both played over 35 minutes a piece, gasping for air a lot. Willie Cauley-Stein had a great game with 13 points and 10 boards but it wasn’t enough to erase the points of turnover deficit that plagued them. The Cats had 18 turnovers with only 5 assists and the Razorbacks had 7 turnovers with 13 assists. Arkansas came to play and you must tip your hat to them, Kentucky doesn’t turn the ball over that often so that says something about the Razorbacks defense pressure that forced that many turnovers and had 11 steals to go along with it. Arkansas was mostly led by Coty Clarke who had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals along with hitting clutch free throws at the end of the game that put an end to any hopes for UK and seal the Razorbacks victory.
