Kentucky Basketball Recruiting: Does Kentucky now lead for Wiggins after visit?

This Andrew Wiggins recruitment process has been very hard to predict, because like I have said in earlier post he doesn’t talk with the media about his recruitment. On Thursday night nothing changed with Wiggins talking to the media about his recruitment as he told them that ” He will not be talking about the recruitment process until after he finishes his official visits next week.”

Wiggins just finished his official visit to Kentucky on Thursday morning, and rumors started flying after he got back to West Virginia to play in a game later that night which he finished with only 6 points, but only played about 6 minutes.

I had a source who is very close to the recruitment tell me that he now believes Kentucky is the back at the top of his list ahead of North Carolina. Yes, I said North Carolina 2nd instead of Florida State who many thought was the favorite to land the superstar. He said that “Kentucky’s visit went very well, and it may have been what pushed Kentucky back to the front, and Wiggins now has his parents on board with Kentucky.”

Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford said last night that “If Wiggins parents didn’t accompany him to his official visits then he would have said Florida State was a “lock”.

I just wanted to give you guys an update on the situation I still don’t expect a decision until later in the spring, but who knows except for Mr. Wiggins himself. Calipari had a one on one with Andrew and his parents yesterday morning before he left, and that could be the part that gets Andrew to Lexington.

Once again, I want to remind you this is all rumors at this point, but we do know for sure that the visit went very well, and an inner circle of people around the Huntington Prep program believe that Kentucky will be his decision.

Either way Kentucky looks like they are in great shape to land the best high school player since Lebron James, I will pass along any other updates I see in this recruitment.
