Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: Wildcats look to get resume building win tonight against Missouri

I just got back from Gameday about 2 hours ago, and my ears are still ringing, the Big Blue Nation showed once again why we are the best fans in the nation. The crowd was into it the whole time, and many chants were sent towards the current players showing them that will are behind them 100%, and even a incoming player(Dakari Johnson) got some love from the crowd.

This game is the biggest game of the year for this young Kentucky team, and if they can win this game tonight against Missouri the path to the NCAA tournament looks a lot more promising. Missouri is 1-6 on the road this season, but just came off a huge win over Florida earlier this week. Rece Davis of ESPN said after the show was over that “This place(Rupp Arena) isn’t the best place to try and pick up a road win.” If the crowd from this morning is any indication for the game tonight-Rupp will be rocking.

Kentucky keys to victory are in the hands of point guard Ryan Harrow. He will have to run the team on offense, and try to slow down Phil Pressey who is one of the nations best point guards, but is very sloppy at times.

Harrow had a good game against Vanderbilt earlier this week with 12 points, and seemed to play a lot tougher than the two games before that. Archie Goodwin said yesterday that ” If Ryan Harrow plays like he can he is the best point guard in the nation” that’s pretty high marks from Archie, but I like the confidence.

Missouri is a very athletic, and strong basketball team. Alex Oriakhi is a major force down low for the tigers, but I think Lawrence Bowers is the best overall player for the tigers. I would say either Alex Poythress or Archie Goodwin will be on him most of the game, and they have to contain him.

Something has told me all day that Kentucky was going to get it done tonight, and with what I saw this morning with the fans as loud as they were hopefully our boys come out with tons of energy, and I think they will be fine IF Ryan Harrow comes to play.

Kentucky will be on ESPN for a 9 O’clock tip time.
