Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: No. 8 UK Hoops escape with 70-66 win No. 10 Texas A&M Aggies

For their first year in the SEC, the Texas A&M Aggies have proved to be true competitors. They defeated Alabama in football, beat the reigning national champion Wildcats at Rupp Arena and gave them a scare in College Station. Tonight, they gave the No. 8 UK Hoops team a scare as well. After being up by 10, the Aggies go on a 10-0 run of their own in the second half and get within two points. However, DeNesha Stallworth’s double-double was too much for the Aggies and the Cats were able to escape with a narrow 70-66 victory.

Stallworth finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and a school-record seven blocks. A’dia Mathies chipped in 13 points of her own, all in the second half, and Kastine Evans scored 12 points. Kentucky (23-3, 11-2 SEC) has four games remaining on their schedule as they move to second in the SEC, and control their own destiny for the conference title.
