Well, I think every Kentucky fan knew Nerlens Noel’s season ending injury was going to hurt this team pretty bad, but I don’t think anybody expected what we saw in the 1st half of the game today against Tennessee. Tennessee has struggled all year on offense, but they exploded in the 1st half, and put up 50.
I really was excited coming into this game to see what other players like Archie, Alex, and maybe even Jon Hood could do without Nerlens out there, and them having a better shot to be the “Star”. I was very disappointed with the outcome, and they showed today that they are not ready for the pros. I don’t see what they see in these guys being lottery picks. I love everyone of our players more than anything, but they showed no heart what so ever.
What has happened to Ryan Harrow? This kid practiced against Marquis Teague all last year, and what I heard done really well, but doesn’t seem to like the pressure of being the Kentucky point guard anymore. Harrow is in a bad position anyways, because of the Harrison Twins coming in next year. This was his chance to shine, and make a pro roster in the upcoming season. I still have hope in him, but he has to do some real soul searching. He was scared to death against Florida, and couldn’t guard Trae Golden today.
Calipari tried something new today by putting Polson and Wiltjer in the starting lineup, and benching Harrow and Poythress. Calipari could have been saving Poythress from getting in foul trouble which he usually does, but I think he is done with Ryan Harrow. Usually benching your point guard lights a fire under the player, but nothing seems to work with Harrow.
I am sorry for the Big Blue Nation that have to read this, because I usually am very positive about our team, and players, but when Calipari tells Archie Goodwin “I can’t coach you” something has went wrong.
Kentucky will take the floor again on Wednesday when they take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in which now becomes a very scary game.
