Wow! What an amazing day it was for the University of Kentucky and the Big Blue Nation. In just two months, we all witnessed Mark Stoops come to UK and assemble a staff of some of the best football minds and recruiters in a short amount of time, and not only salvaged the best recruits from the previous recruiting class that Joker Phillips had established, but went out and swung for the fences with elite talents like Jason Hatcher, James Quick, Ryan Timmons, Marcus McWilson, Ben Bradley, Zadarius Smith, and a number of other talented prospects.

None of these players would have ever come to UK to play for the previous staff, and while Stoops and co. were unable to get everyone they wanted, getting arguably the best player in the state (Hatcher), stealing an All-American safety from Nebraska (McWilson), getting the #1 JUCO defensive end in the nation (Zadarius), and securing the commitment of one of the most talented players to ever play in the state of Kentucky (Timmons), this will go down as one of the greatest recruiting classes in the history of Kentucky football.

The highlights from Mark Stoops’ press conference after all of today’s signings became official:
