Timmons recruitment came down to the wire with Kentucky having to hold off late offers from Florida (former head coach Joker Phillips) and Ohio State (long rumored to be his favorite school). But he Neal Brown’s “become a home-town hero” pitch must have appealed to him. One of the most dynamic play-makers in the commonwealth, Timmons had 72 carries for 1260 yards and 25 scores. He also caught 29 passes for 970 yards and  17 more touchdowns. That is an eye-popping 17.5 yards-per-carry and  33.4 yards per catch. That means he scored nearly HALF of the times he touched the ball. He also took three kickoffs back for touchdowns. All of this was against Kentucky high school competition widely viewed as sub-par but those numbers are undeniably impressive. Timmons is a player Wildcat fans should expect to see early and often, with his familiarity with the playbook giving him an early edge for playing time. Franklin County Coach Chris Tracy runs a nearly identical  offense and both player and coach have said they expect Ryan to be used in a similar fashion by Neal Brown. He will surely be a fan favorite as a local product.
