Badet is an athletic receiver who will primarily play in the slot in Neal Brown’s offense. He has more quickness than  straight-line speed and excellent hands. He is also dangerous after the catch and could figure into the return game where Kentucky has been so sorely lacking recently. He originally committed to South Florida but later decommitted and openly expressed interest in the Wildcats once Mark Stoops was announced as head coach. He also held offers from Louisville, Wake Forest and North Carolina State. He had some interest from Nebraska also. Badet is a good friend of fellow UK signee Blake McClain. Jeff could play as a freshman because of lacking depth at receiver and the fact that Neal Brown utilizes numerous wideouts at the same time in his offense. He is a little small and could use a redshirt to add weight but if Demarco Robinson can do it, so can Badet. According to him, he should be able to transition into the Air Raid pretty easily, in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel he had this to say, “I got to meet with Coach Brown and he showed me how they would use me on offense,” Badet said. “The plays they run are really familiar. They run some of the same plays we ran on the Freedom offense and so I wouldn’t have to worry about memorizing new  plays too much.”
