McClain is a guy who committed to Kentucky last summer and was excited enough about it to make his decision on live TV. After the 2012 season unfolded the way it did, he started looking elsewhere, visiting Iowa State and Pittsburgh. At that  point most expected him to sign elsewhere. But the new coaching staff renewed Blake’s faith in UK and he has turned into one of the best recruiting tools available. He chose the Wildcats over Louisville, West Virginia, and Arizona, among others.  McClain is a big physical corner in the mold that Coach Stoops has shown he likes at previous stops, so he definitely has potential in this defense. He would benefit from a redshirt year but that is up in the air considering Kentucky’s lack of depth at cornerback. Definitely projects as a future starter at his position, has the build to play safety if corner doesn’t work out for some reason. 247 actually lists him as the #94 safety in the country, not bad for a guy who Scout ranks as the #61 cornerback.
