Jason Hatcher, the four star defensive end out of Louisville Trinity High School, has sent word to Southern California that he will not be a Trojan in the fall. A USC message board states that Hatcher informed USC today that he will not be attending their school and Hatcher’s mother told USC that Hatcher will announce that he will be a Kentucky Wildcat tomorrow.
This is huge news. Kentucky has a chance to nab a recruit from Lane Kiffin and Charlie Strong. Kentucky also has a chance to make inroads to the program at Louisville Trinity High School, which has been a football powerhouse for a decade and has pumped players into the University of Louisville.
The need for Hatcher on defense is there, but the perception of landing a high profile local recruit is major.
This news is coming only hours after the commitment from Ryan Timmons, a Franklin County native that was considering Florida and Ohio State among others. Mark Stoops is going toe to toe with the biggest programs in the country and is coming out on top.
Nothing will be confirmed until 3:00 PM tomorrow, when Hatcher is set to make his final decision. Mark Stoops also has a press conference scheduled at that time as well.
