With most of the nation’s attention drawn to football on Super Bowl Sunday, there was minimal action in the NBA. There were only three former Wildcats on the hardwood last night.
Boston Celtics 106 – Los Angeles Clippers 104

This was an intense matchup that came right down to the wire. With major help from Bledsoe the Clippers were able to cut a 19-point second half deficit to just two in the game’s final seconds. Despite their efforts the Clippers came up short. Bledsoe filled the stat sheets and recorded a double-double with 23 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and a blocked shot.
Los Angeles Lakers 98 – Detroit Pistons 97

This was another thrilling game from Sunday afternoon. The Lakers escaped with a victory as the Pistons couldn’t convert on a las second shot. The Lakers still have hope for salvaging their season and it will be interesting to see how the Pistons finish the season after trading Tayshaun Prince. Brandon Knight had 10 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in the loss. While Jodie Meeks scored 5 points and grabbed a steal in his ten minutes of playing time.
