Elston Turner almost did it again, only this time he scored half of 40 and shot a measley 7-23 from the field. He ended with 21 but the bulk of his points came in the second half and from the free throw line. The combination guarding of Archie Goodwin and Julius Mays did the trick early, but the guy that has daggers for Kentucky helped send his team into overtime in College Station to try and get another win against the Wildcats.

Luckily Kentucky was up for the task, specifically Nerlens Noel and Julius Mays. Noel had his usual night on defense, but he added a much needed offensive wrinkle with 19 points along with 14 rebounds. Mays had his season high with 19 points and was hot from the three going 4-6.

Kentucky played a sloppy game and committed a staggering 18 turnovers while forcing only 10.
