As we enter February the spring season draws nearer. With the spring season comes baseball season and in just two short weeks the University of Kentucky baseball team will play its first game of 2013. The baseball team had a record-setting season last year as they had the most wins (45) and its best finishes in the SEC and NCAA tournaments in program history. The team also finished the season ranked No. 20 in the country, which tied the program’s best end-of-season finish. The Cats are looking to have much of the same success again this year. There are five players on the team that are amongst the top NCAA prospects including Jerad Grundy, Corey Littrell, Austin Cousino, A.J. Reed, and Kyle Cody. They are No. 8 in the preseason rankings and will open the 2013 season on Friday, February 15th against UNC Asheville in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
