Former Kentucky Wildcats In The NBA: 1/28 Edition


 

For basketball fans Sunday’s games were exciting from the start. The day started off with a great game in Boston between the Celtics and the Heat where Boston pulled off an unbelievable win at home in double overtime. For Kentucky fans Sunday was bittersweet, the bitter being former Cat, Rajon Rondo finding out he has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season for the Celtics. The sweet however would be Brandon Knight having arguably the best game of his young NBA career against the Magic.

In this Eastern Conference match-up, former Cat Brandon Knight had a career night scoring 31 points, including 5 threes and a steal. Tayshaun Prince also contributed 7 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals to the winning effort.

 

Los Angeles Lakers 105- Oklahoma City Thunder 96

The struggling Lakers played one of their best games of the season against the Thunder, Kobe Bryant is bringing out his inner Steve Nash and for the second straight game recorded 14 assists to go along with his 21 points. Former cats Jodie Meeks and Deandre Liggins did not do much in this game, Meeks scoring 5 points and 1 assist and Liggins with a steal and a block.

 

New Orleans Hornets 91-Memphis Grizzlies 83

Darius Miller, Forward, New Orleans

Anthony Davis had a solid game for the victorious Hornets with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals and an assist. While former Cat Darius miller did not play, the Hornets had help from their bench when Ryan Anderson came in and hit 7 threes which gave them the boost that they needed to pull of the win.

 

Los Angeles Clippers 96- Portland Trail Blazers 83

Even though the Clippers had a pretty good lead most of the game, the Blazers came back with under 2 minutes left and cut it close. Former Cat Eric Bledsoe had another solid game with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 block.
