8. Tennessee Volunteers (10-8, 2-4) Last Week: L 62-56 at #23 Ole Miss, W 54-53 vs, Alabama: Martin and Co. don’t have much to be down about this week.  Sure they lost to Ole Miss but they managed to not blow it against Alabama.  Look for Stokes to build on his season next week and McBee to tear through Vandy. This Week: January 29 vs. Vanderbilt, February 2 at Arkansas

9. South Carolina Gamecocks (12-7, 2-4) Last Week: L 71-65 at Mizzou, W 75-54 vs. Arkansas: Ol’ Frank has his team moving in the right direction.  Close game at Mizzou and the decimation of Razorbacks gives them confidence going forward.  They have five guys averaging double figure points and two over seven rebounds per game.  They’re working with a new coach and in a new system so the curve will be steep.  Steeper still with a trip to Florida next. This Week: January 30 at Florida, February 2 vs. Georgia

10. Auburn Tigers (8-11, 2-4) Last Week: L 73-61 at Vanderbilt, L 63-61 vs. #23 Ole Miss: Once again Chubb and Sullivan are all the Tigers have on offense and it’s offensive.  The loss to Ole Miss is oddly understandable but to the loss to Vandy is inexcusable.  They need more from anyone on that team.  Anyone. This Week: January 30 at Georgia, February 2 at Mizzou

11. Georgia Bulldogs (8-11, 2-4) Last Week: L 79-62 at #22 Missouri, W 59-52 at Texas A&M: Well Mark Fox’s Bulldogs did what Kentucky could not against Texas A&M so there’s that.  There’s not much else.  This Week: January 30 vs. Auburn, February 2 at South Carolina

12. Vanderbilt (8-10, 2-4) Last Week: W 73-61 vs. Auburn, L 81-59 at #22 Mizzou: Vandy finally found a pair but they split them.  Outside of Kevin Stallings being a horrible recruiter and coach, they have no real PG.  Their high assist man averages 3.3 so their season will be considered a success if they’re .500.  This Week: January 29 at Tennessee, February 2, vs. Alabama

13. Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-10, 2-3) Last Week: L 96-70 at Arkansas, L 82-47 vs. Florida: Wow...they really have to stop letting Stansbury coach.   This Week: January 30 vs. Texas A&M, February 2 vs. LSU

14. LSU Tigers (10-7, 1-5) Last Week: W 58-54 vs. Texas A&M, L 75-70 at Kentucky: After starting 0-4 in SEC play, they finally found the left side of the column against A&M but couldn’t turn that momentum into much at Rupp.  Patrick O’Bryant is a beast down low but he and Hickey can’t do it all.  However, their coach is definitely the right man for the job in Baton Rouge. This Week: January 30 vs. #22 Mizzou, February 2 at Mississippi State University
