It may be safe to say the recruitment of Louisville Trinidad defensive end Jason Hatcher is the most mind-boggling recruitment of Marks Stoops’ first recruiting class at UK. Just a few weeks ago, it appeared Hatcher had firmly committed to the USC Trojans since he gave them his commitment in July of 2012. Then came word this week that he was decommiting from the Trojans, and would visit be visiting Louisville today, and it appeared that he would be deciding between the Cardinals and Wildcats on signing day.

Then came a visit from USC recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron on Thursday night, and following that was a report that Hatcher would wait until National Signing Day to make his final decision, and that the Trojans appeared to be back in the mix. Now there are reports he’s on the campus of Kentucky for an unofficial visit, the same day he was originally scheduled to visit with the Cardinals. While it’s impossible to say who Hatcher’s favorite is, it’s clear that UK will be in it until the very end.
