Also, UK freshman Willie Cauley-Stein, who has missed the last two games after minor knee surgery, is in street clothes for today’s game with LSU. Hopefully this is a precaution so that he’s 100% when the Cats travel to Ole Miss on Tuesday night, in what will be one the Cats’ toughest game of the year. As of now, UK already has two losses in the SEC, and a third either today or Tuesday would all but eliminate them from the SEC regular-season title race as Florida and Ole Miss sit at 5-0 in the SEC.
5-point win is always better than a 2-point loss, right Louisville? Thanks for joining us tonight. Have a safe and blessed weekend.
FINAL: Kentucky 75, LSU 70
MISSES. REBOUND! BALLGAME!!!
Calipari elects to quickly foul Hickey, put him at the line
Wiltjer shooting FTs. Hasn’t scored this half……
Robic had to pull Nerlens out of game on inbounds. UK had 6 players on court. Johnny JOnes protested.

Flagrant 1 on Mays

Goodwin goes around the world for the lefty reverse.
Rough passing is plaguing UK. Fortunate Hickey couldn’t complete the steal.
One of those few games, against a conference opponent, where we are actually forcing the issue in the post. If we can hit our 3′s LSU will have to be honest.
This seems to be a clear case that UK’s athleticism is superior to LSU’s.
42-49 now. UK’s sleepwalking habits may be showing….but Julius Mays drills a 3.
Mays is on fire. Another 3.
Goodwin with the stupid shot followed by a great shot. Feast or famine for him.
LSU’s coach is a Clem Haskins doppelganger
Poythress jobbed again for block call. He had position and was at his spot first.
I just explained those stats to my wife…she is stunned.

Noel, 7 pts 5 Rebs 4 blocks 2 asst 2 steals…stuffing shots and stat sheets again today
Poythress with 11 after the hoop and harm. If Poythress comes alive…
Poythress answers w another physical, ‘Yes’
Poythress and-1. LOVE THAT FIRE!!!
Score was 33-24 at half of the Alabama game. 35-25 w 3:30 to go in the first here…can Kentucky score this time during the next 11 mins?
Apparently the pressure of playing at UK is a smile eraser.
Poythress with the rebound of Harrow’s miss. AP is everywhere.
Alex Poythress up to eight points, 4-of-5 shooting, four rebounds. He’s been more active on both ends so far.
Poythress is getting all over this action
Nerlens is killing the post. Killing. It.
Holy crap…Wiltjer just put back Goodwin’s FT miss
Noel and Goodwin are ultra aggressive on both ends and Harrow is making smart decisions.
Our boys in blue are doing a decent job maintaining some intensity.
We’ve figured out how to break a press.
LSU with the quick press on the inbound.
Make up call
Kentucky is outrebounding LSU 13-6
Wiltjer with some hustle trying to keep the ball inbounds
What in the world…what a shot by Harrow
Poythress is battling for position. Like that.
Noel stuffs Piero’s shot. Officials call jump ball. It’s 18-10 UK, 11:41 first.
Was 16-7 UK before Hickey stemmed the tide with a 3-pointer.
Have to sit Polson at 13:31 mark of first half to make sure he stays away from 3rd foul
Cats 4 of 6 shooting,
UK 10, LSU 5
Hickey gets LSU going with a three. It’s 5-2 Tigers early
Poythress on the court–and he gets foul # 1 immediately
Anthony Hickey gets a nice round of applause from Rupp crowd during pre-game introductions
Kentucky will start Nerlens Noel, Archie Goodwin, Ryan Harrow, Alex Poythress and Julius Mays vs. LSU
Nerlens Noel’s last four games: 11.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 6.8 blocks
They shoot 37% from field, 29% from behind the arc and 58% from the FT line in conference
The Tigers take 24 3 pt attempts per game
This will be third straight game Cauley-Stein has missed.
