One recruit who likely won’t be committing to UK is four-star wide receiver Shelton Gibson, who appeared to be wavering on his previous commitment to West Virginia, leading some to believe he was essentially uncommitted, and strongly considering UK. He spoke with scout.com recently, and said was solid in my commitment to West Virginia, and would not be taking any more visits. We’ve seen recruits make these kinds of statements before, only to pledge to another school by signing day. It was just a week ago that Jason Hatcher said he was “90-95%” sure he was going to USC, before he de-commited from the Trojans last night.
Four-star safety Marcus McWilson will visit Kentucky this weekend. McWilson is a current Nebraska commit, but it’s believed he’s set to de-commit and commit to UK this weekend during his official visit if it goes well:
I’m not really leaning towards either [Kentucky or Nebraska] but I’ll just see what happens. When I get back from my official I’m going to sit down with my mom, dad and coach and look at the pros and cons of each school. If it’s Nebraska, it’s Nebraska. If it’s Kentucky, it’s Kentucky. Right now I’d say I would be up in the air. I definitely want to be open to new things. I want to make a good decision, not for other people but for me.
