Former Kentucky Wildcats in the NBA: 1/21 Edition

There were a total of four former Kentucky Wildcats playing for NBA teams last night, with three of them coming in one game.  Rajon Rondo, Brandon Knight, Tayshaun Prince and DeAndre Liggins all saw some time for their respective teams last night.  Let’s take a look at how each player did individually.

Detroit Pistons 103 – Boston Celtics 88

  • Brandon Knight, Guard, Detroit
  • Tayshaun Prince, Forward, Detroit
  • Rajon Rondo, Guard, Boston

Three of the four former Cats in action last night played in the Detroit Pistons vs. Boston Celtics game.  For the Pistons, Brandon Knight started and finished with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  Knight also had 7 turnovers.  Also for the Pistons, Tayshaun Prince also started and had 14 points and 4 rebounds.  For the Celtics, Rajon Rondo is struggling to keep this team afloat.  Rondo finished with 8 points, 15 assists, 9 rebounds and 3 steals, but also had 9 turnovers. The Pistons beat the Celtics by the score of 103 to 88.

Denver Nuggets 121 – Oklahoma City Thunder 118 (OT)

  • DeAndre Liggins, Guard, Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Thunder went into overtime for a second consecutive game, this time against the Denver Nuggets.  For the Thunder, DeAndre Liggins only played one minute and did not accumulate any stats.  The Thunder lost in overtime to the Nuggets, 121 to 118.
