Kentucky Football gets Commitment from Regie Meant

Mark Stoops has secured another verbal commitment from one of his many weekend visitors, this one being from Florida defensive tackle/end Regie Meant, who held offers from Iowa State and Kansas State. He’s a 2-star recruit on Scout.com and Rivals. At 6’5″ and 270 pounds, Mean has the ability to play every spot on the defensive line, and with UK needing bodies at both tackle and end, Meant was too good of a prospect for Stoops to pass on.

Don’t be fooled by his ranking or lack of bigger BCS offers. He just finished up his third year of organized football, as he didn’t begin playing until his sophomore year in high school. Based on the level of elite recruits Stoops has had on Kentucky’s campus recently, it’s safe to say he saw something really special in Meant.
