6th annual Cancer Research Classic is loaded with Kentucky Wildcat recruits

The Cancer Research Classic in Wheeling, WV doesn’t get a lot of attention throughout the country, but this year it’s loaded with 5 star talent. This is the 6th year this event has taken place, but by far the most talented group of teams they have had. I will be attending the classic on Friday and Saturday, and I am very excited to see all the talent they have on hand.

Jabari Parker who recently committed to Duke, and Andrew Wiggins highlight the event, but every team coming in has a highly ranked player. Most of them have Kentucky offers in either the class of 2013 or 2014. Dakari Johnson and Kasey Hill(Florida) lead #1 ranked Montverde(FL) against Jabari Parker and Simeon(Chicago,IL) at 6 on Saturday night. The game will be on ESPN 2, and it will be a must watch game. Many people believe Johnson is a heavy Kentucky lean so it will be a good chance to see what the big guy is all about.

Friday at  7:30 Andrew Wiggins leads Huntington Prep against Prime Prep from Dallas, TX who is a national powerhouse as well. Everybody around the nation knows how good Andrew Wiggins is, but keep an eye on Montaque Gill-Caeser who is a very skilled and athletic player. Montaque has already been on campus this past summer, and has offers from Baylor and Ohio State. Kentucky is in his top 5, but have not offered the 2015 star as of now. Believe me when I say he is the next big thing coming from the Huntington Prep pipeline.

Prime Prep has a major Kentucky target in Emmanuel Mudiay(2014), he is ranked top 5 in the class of 2014. Emmanuel is considered by some as the nations #1 point guard. He list includes Arizona,Baylor,Kansas,Kentucky,Texas, and Missouri.

The #1 player in the 2014 class will also be on hand at 3:30 on Saturday. Jahlil Okafor leads his Whitney Young team in to take on Neumann-Goretti(PA). Jahlil is a freak of nature and has an offer from John Calipari. I fully expect Calipari to be in attendence Friday or Saturday and maybe both, because Kentucky is off this weekend.

I will be in attendence both days, and will have a lot more information coming from the classic coming next week sometime. If you get the chance to tune in on Saturday do so. That game between Montverde and Simeon will be a treat.
