As 2012 comes to an end and we reflect on the good things that happened this year (banner #8), it’s time to start planning for 2013. This planning includes your New Years resolutions. In the spirit of resolving, have made a list of resolutions for the UK student body.
.) Stop saying “This year’s team sucks”. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. THIS TEAM DOESN’T SUCK. Are they as incredible as last year’s team? Probably not. Do they have a ways to go before March? Yes, but they are talented players and they are definitely improving.
.) Stop comparing Nerlens Noel and Anthony Davis. Yes they play the same position, yes they both have unique hair features and yes they’re both really good, however they are two different players on two different teams. But if you insist on comparing you’ll see that as far as stats go they’re freakishly similar.
.) FILL OUT STUDENT SECTIONS FOR GAMES! If you aren’t going to use the ticket, sell it. Full crowd is what makes Rupp Arena so great.
.) YELL LOUDLY AT SAID GAMES. Rupp has been abnormally quiet as a whole this season. Sure it’s had its moments, but not like it used to be. Step it up guys
.) Continue on with our witty signs and overall funniness and comrade. It intimidates other fan bases.
.) No more burning vehicles after National Championship wins. Continue to rage in the streets however.
.) Bring back the “Kentucky Basketball Never Stops” Nike banner the eRUPPtion Zone used to have before games. I don’t know where it went but I liked it and want it back.
.) Continue to remain a classy fan-base that doesn’t harass players or recruits via twitter or any other social media. This does nothing to our favor
.) PACK COMMONWEALTH. For the 2013 season fill the student section every game. Come early, stay late. The Stoops Era is here.
.) Support other teams as much as we do basketball. UK has a pretty stellar athletic department. Of course, UK has always been considered a “basketball school”, but our football program is definitely on the rise and needs support, our women’s basketball team is having an AMAZING season, we have a good soccer program, excellent cheerleaders, good softball, our baseball program is great and we’re good at volleyball, golf, rifle, tennis and track as well. Support your school!
As we move on from a year of GR8NESS and go into 2013, just keep in mind how awesome it is to be a part of the Big Blue Nation
