Former Wildcats in the NBA: 12-28-2012 Edition

In a match up last night between Bledsoe and Rondo, we saw two of UK’s most dynamic playmakers. Bledsoe was among Cal’s record draft class in his first season at UK, and while Rondo wasn’t fortunate to run the point on any of Cal’s teams, we can only imagine how unstoppable he would have been. There has been talk that Bledsoe will turn out to be the best pro out of Cal’s first draft class at UK, which is high praise considering he played with the likes of John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins. Unfortunately for Rondo, he got stuck behind the worst offensive coach in the past 20 years, NOT named Billy Gillispie. And since there were only two former UK players in action, I’ve posted these YouTube vids for your viewing pleasure.

Eric Bledsoe- “Train kept a rolling, all night long…” *Steven Tyler voice* The Clippers are the best team in the league right now and the 29 point beat down they put on Boston is one such indication. Bledsoe had a nice, consistent game with 3 Points, 3 Rebounds, and 4 Assists, to go along with his 6 Steals. The kid does it all.

Rajon Rondo- So this didn’t work out so well for Rondo. The entire Celtics team couldn’t throw a stone in the ocean and are playing old; which makes sense since two of the Big 3 are old. Rondo had a nice game with 10 Points, 5 Rebounds and 6 Assists. He almost negated his 6 Ast. with 4 TO. They can forget about a return trip to the Second Round of the Playoffs…should they even make the Playoffs.
