The only thing Big Blue Nation loves as much as Kentucky basketball is Kentucky basketball recruiting, and there was no shortage of top recruits in action last night. The City of Palms Classic in Fort Meyers, Florida featured some of the best high school players and teams in the country last night, including Big Blue Nation’s darling recruit Andrew Wiggins. However, Wiggins was not the only recruit showing off last night as Dakari Johnson, Jahlil Okafor, and Montaque Gill-Caesar were on display as well during the Thursday night games.
The biggest performance so far in the tournament has been from the number one player in the country, Andrew Wiggins. The Canadian forward attacked the rim at will against Houston HYCA. He recorded 31 points with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks while guarding a top 2014 recruit, Justin Jackson. Wiggins wowed every scout, coach, and even the colorful Dick Vitale in a 27 point rout of HYCA. A 14 point 3rd quarter from Wiggins was the biggest display of his dominance on both sides of the ball. Don’t believe me? See his dominance for yourself.
