8. Arkansas Razorbacks (5-4, 0-0) Last Week: W vs. Alcorn State 97-59: Arkansas has played a difficult schedule thus far and has really no bad losses. The difficult part of their schedule is over and now they have an easy road before conference play. The West seems to be full of bad to mediocre teams, so the Razorbacks are just as much of a favorite as anybody in that division. This Week: 12-20 vs. Robert Morris, 12-22 vs. Alabama A&M

9. Ole Miss Rebels (7-1, 0-0) Last Week: W vs. East Tennessee State 77-55: OK, this ranking may seem kind of low, but honestly the Rebels have not played anyone thus far. Yes, they have one loss, but it was at Middle Tennessee, which isn’t a bad team. But still, I really can’t judge how bad or how good they really are as they have not played any true quality teams, therefore they languish behind teams with more losses. We won’t see how good the Rebs are until SEC play. This Week: 12-19 Loyola Marymount, 12-22 vs. Indiana State

10. Alabama Crimson Tide (6-3, 0-0) Last Week: L @ VCU 73-54: Anthony Grant’s team was looking good heading into December as they were 6-0. Then the wheels came off. Losers of three in a row, the Tide need to find a way to score and rebound. They rank among the nation’s worst in those two categories. They may be looking at four losses in a row as they are scheduled against 5-1 Texas Tech in their next contest. This Week: 12-19 at Texas Tech, 12-22 vs. Mercer

11. Vanderbilt Commodores (4-4, 0-0) Last Week: W vs. Alabama A&M 71-46: After losing to Marist, the Commodores have shown signs of life. They beat Xavier, their best win so far, and now have a .500 record. Still, they rank at the bottom of the conference due to some really bad early losses and a lack of consistency on offense. Kevin Stallings still has a long road ahead of him this season. But, they still have enough to possibly make a nice little run in the SEC. This Week: 12-17 vs. Cornell, 12-21 vs. Middle Tennessee

12. Mississippi State Bulldogs (3-6, 0-0) Last Week: L @ Loyal Illinois 59-51: This is a bad team. I’m not sure if Rick Stansbury would have made much of a difference with this bunch, but I’m not sure he could have done much worse. All of the talent that was there is now gone and these Bulldogs are one of the worst teams in the country. This Week: 12-22 vs. Central Arkansas

13. Auburn Tigers (4-5, 0-0) Last Week: W vs. Furman 64-50: Hey, the Tigers won two in a row! That still doesn’t erase losing four in a row, and one of those four being to DePaul. The meat of their non-conference schedule is looming with contests against Illinois and Florida State still to come. Gulp. This Week: 12-19 vs. Tennessee Tech, 12-22 vs. Winthrop

14. Georgia Bulldogs (2-7, 0-0) Last Week: L vs. Iona 81-78: Make it stop. Just, make it stop. Sincerely, Georgia fans. This Week: 12-18 vs. Mercer, 12-22 vs. Southern California
